Privacy
Your messages never leave your Mac.
The short version: Textlore only reads, keeps everything on your Mac, and goes online for 2 things only. The details are below, in plain words.
- Every message
- Photos and files
- Recs and Promises
- Your Lore stats
- Ask AI questions and answers
- Searches
- The archive
Your messages stay on your Mac
Textlore reads your Messages history and your WhatsApp for Mac chats on your Mac and keeps its own copy in ~/Library/Application Support/Textlore. That data never leaves your Mac. Textlore never sends, edits or deletes a message.
No account, no tracking
Textlore has no account, no analytics and no tracking. This website counts visits with Umami, which sets no cookies, keeps no personal data and never follows you to other sites. If your browser asks sites not to track you, it does not count you at all.
The 2 services it contacts
- Gumroad, to check your licence key. It sends the key and the product ID.
- textlore.app, to check for updates. It sends the app version.
Nothing else is sent.
Recs, Promises and Ask AI
Recs, Promises and Ask AI use Apple's on-device model. Your questions, your messages and what they find are not sent anywhere.
Payment
Gumroad handles payment and keeps the details you give at checkout, under Gumroad's own privacy policy. The Buy buttons take you to Gumroad's checkout.
Removing everything
To remove everything, use Settings > Privacy > Delete All App Data, then move Textlore to the Bin.
